ASSESSMENT REVIEW BOARD:
The Assessment Review Board is an independent tribunal created by the province to hear and determine assessment appeals under the Assessment Act and tax related appeals under the Municipal Act, 2001 and the City of Toronto Act, 2006. The Assessment Review Board’s website includes information on the appeal process, including how to file an appeal and how to prepare for a hearing. The Board’s Rules of Practice and Procedure are also available. E-Status and E-Calendar provide up-to-date information on the status of individual appeals. Visit: http://www.arb.gov.on.ca

THE INSTITUTE OF MUNICIPAL ASSESSORS:
The Institute of Municipal Assessors establishes and maintains standards of competence in real property valuation, primarily in municipal assessment through its Associate (A.I.M.A.) and Accredited (M.I.M.A.) designations. ONTARIO MUNICIPAL TAX AND REVENUE ASSOCIATION:
The Ontario Municipal Tax and Revenue Association promotes improved standards of ethics and efficiency in tax collection methods and procedures through its Certified Municipal Tax Professional, C.M.T.P. and Associate Certified Municipal Tax Professional, C.M.T.P.(A) designations. The Association also advocates for legislative changes in tax administration and policy as well as provides educational and professional development opportunities in the areas of municipal revenue and taxation.
