Ms. Lunau is a recognized expert in municipal property assessment and taxation law. Her expertise is based on her twenty-eight years of experience in litigating, mediating, advising, studying, speaking and writing about property assessment, taxation and related issues.
Ms. Lunau has acted as counsel in hearings, applications, motions for leave to appeal, and appeals. She has appeared before all levels of court (Superior Court, Divisional Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Canada) and the Assessment Review Board, primarily on behalf of assessing authorities and municipalities in proceedings arising under the Assessment Act and related legislation.
She has written many papers and has been an invited speaker on the topic of municipal assessment and taxation for various organizations. She is an editor and a co‐author of the Institute of Municipal Assessors’ course, “Assessor and the Courts”.
